Magic
Many don't believe in magic, but I do. Always have, even if it's the magic that we create in our lives our instill in our children's dreams and hopes. For me, magic has come visiting again. We have our son back! It's been a rough 9 months, filled with little sleep, lots of screaming and loads of frustration. But we've gotten through and pushed through and finally were pushed to our limits. Only to find that simple magic is within our own hands. Our son, who previously woke every 45 minutes screaming bloody murder, and then spent much of the day screaming bloody murder has become a 'normal' child. He will sleep for 5-6 hour of stretches at a time at night. He no longer screams at me all day and I no longer feel as if i am being held ransom by an 18 lb little being. And just like that motherhood has become easy again. We have fallen back into our old routines and it's no longer about just functioning. We even have been thinking about when to start trying out babysitters (gasp!). Who knew that the magic would all be in a special pediatric GI who would agree with me that DS has numerous food allergies and needs to be on a magical formula called Elecare? Well, I did and have been begging for these answers for months now. But no one believed me. I was treated with kid gloves, asked often if i was fighting post partum depression or told that "Babies do cry". All along i knew he had severe allergies and had already cut out egg and dairy, little did i know he'd be allergic to gluten, soy and citrus as well. Once I cut those out and started mixing elecare into his baby food (he refuses a bottle little booger) . . .the change happened with in 3 days. DH became superman and my hero, and he moved him and our son into the other room. And just like that, DS started sleeping for up to 6 hours at a time. Magic i tell you!

Well when you are ready for a babysitter, you've got my number! Logan keeps talking about wanting to try it out and together we would be a great team!
So thrilled that things settled down so quickly once things were figured out.
Enjoy the time!
