Overacheive much?

Yeah, i've heard that annoying word my whole life. Overachiever. It just drops out of the mouth and there is simply no way to take it as a compliment. But alas, i've grown use to it. And so I embrace that i have officially taken on more then i should have.

Friday, i got a wild hair up my rear to make our house more of a home. Currently we rent a trilevel house of about 2300 square feet that was built in the 60's. Our landlords are awesome and we will most likely be buying it from them, we are hoping to do so sooner then later though. Well the bottom 2 levels have walls that have been a peachy color for probably at least 30 years. I grew tired of it as i felt like i was stuck in a hospital waiting room minus the hideous wallpaper they usually trim this color with. Hospital's and I do NOT mix. So i became a hypocrit and invested money in our rental.

BEFORE:

We picked out a lovely light brown color that we thought would look beautiful framing the back wall of our downstairs which houses 7 large windows which are about 4 feet wide by 6 feet long. Our backyard is full of mature trees and greenery with a view of large rolling hills. We were excited to start, so saturday morning after rubbing the sleep out of our eyes and getting the girls situated with arts and crafts we set up the drop cloths and popped open the primer.

14 hours later, we had only completed 3/4's of the bottom floor walls. My hand could barely move, was swollen 2 times the normal size and we wondered if it was possible to start a new trend of 'primer white' as wall decor. Finally Sunday we went through the rest of the primer with a 2nd coat because the paint was still showing through. Mostly we have left is the 2nd level 2nd coat and we havent touched it yet. But will be getting back on it tomorrow. The brown that we bought, looks like crap. Literally. So we will be going back and looking for a tan. I have also decided i want to do one accent wall, just not sure what yet. Maybe a green or blueish color.

I'm excited to finish it off and get the girls playroom all set up. I'll keep posted as we complete it. Its our big winter/christmas project!
