We have decided that instead of letting MIL milk the rest of my surrogacy comp, that we are going to move into an apartment to save the $1500 in costs per month she is racking up. Wont go into the details, but basically im done letting her take advantage of us.
So the last 2 days ive spent trying to go over the very few complexes in our town. Its hard because there are only 5 or 6. So far this is what we have:
Option a - 2 beds/1 bath 1001 square feet for $1295
Pros = full washer and dryer, granite counters, updated throughout, wood fire burning fireplace, hardwood floors, lower gas costs, dining nook, pantry, nicer pools and gym
Cons = no garage, further away from school and freeway (will have to verify with district lyssa gets top priority next year to attend current elementary school and we dont have to move schools), 1 bathroom
Option b - 2 beds/2 baths 1048 square feet for $1280
Pros = garage, nice layout for kitchen, new appliances, same school/distance, 2nd bathroom
Cons = Stackable w&d, small living area, couch wont fit
Option c - 2 beds/2 baths 1102 square feet = $1377
Pros = Attached garage, full w & d, dual suites, easy access to freeway, 2nd bathroom, spacious Cons = Other side of town, may have to change schools, COST
Option D - 2 beds/1 bath 919 square feet = $1110
Pros = Full w & d, nice living space with dining nook, detached garage, no gas bill, location wont change school
Cons = kitchen is small with old appliances, walk up flight of stairs to parking space and garage, water/sewage/garbage is about $50 more then everywhere else, 1 bathroom
Option E - 2 beds/2 baths 1100 square feet = $950
Pros = full w & d, cost
Cons = old community, no patio, no garage, very outdated, higher w/s/g cost, weird layout

It's never an easy choice, much like the decision to move I'm sure.
It really comes down to what's most important for you and your family. Remember, you have to live there and be happy-a stackable washer/dryer isn't that big of a deal, but hating where you live IS!
